I was putting my 607 together and scuffed up the rear sight drum.  It was done by Victor in XM gray.  Is there something I can use to touch it up.

By the way....putting that g**damn rear sight together is a pain the arse!

The rear sight drum is parkerized steel. Try a cold blue pen, you can pick up one at Walmart in sporting goods.

I know there are many ways to do it and it probably doesn't help you now, but I find putting the drum in a protected vise then starting the roll pin before putting it on the receiver works good for me:

Yeah, when you drive the pin out initially, only drive it out far enough to clear the screw underneath. Then it's a simple matter to line up the holes with a punch and drive back through. However, when you are having it refinished, you're king of on your own. The vise works good.

Others have said here how I would do it, so all I will say is practice! As for the finish problem, touch up pens and such exist for this reason. If you still need help, you can mail the part to me and I will repark it for you.

I use two tiny pliers - one to hold the pin and one on the end of the pin and through the center of the sight wheel. My third hand holds the wheel.  You can start the pin with gentle pressure on pliers #2.  Once it gets "seated" a little you just hold the sight wheel instead of pliers #1.  Push the pin down a little at a time until there's just a CH between the pin and the interior of the sight wheel.

Then stick the sucker on the screw, look through the pin to see if you're lined up, and crank it down with pliers #2 - this time with one side on the end of the pin and the other side on the opposite side of the sight wheel center protrusion.  Crank it flush.

Be careful, wrap your pliers in some tape.

A finishing nail also makes a convenient pin punch...works for the gas tube, too...

Edit to Actually Address the OP's Original Question:  Cold blue touchup.  Unless everything else is new and unmarked - in which case - repark.
