That is a Colt 715 Canadian C7 upper.
The CK stands for Colt / Kaiser. Looks like it has a modern day ejection port cover and delta ring. Looks like it has a large round forward assist. The bolt carrier was made by Smith Enterprise. Got any pictures of the barrel? |

Interesting.
I didn't expect a heavy barrel. Looks like it either has an A1 flash hider or an incorrectly indexed A2. Got any pictures of the flash hider? BTW, if I remember correctly there is someone wanting to trade an older retro barrel for a heavy barrel in the EE. If I had your upper I'd make the trade. I don't know what it might be worth. How much did you pay for it? |

Actually after looking closer it looks like a SPR profile.
Check HERE for more profile dimensions. |

Picture from front will tell.
An A1 has slots all the way around. An A2 will be missing a slot in one spot. This area without a slot should be indexed so it is on the bottom. It is supposed to prevent dust signatures from the blast hitting the ground when prone. Also might help with muzzle rise. I prefer A1s. No indexing needed, just torque down and go have fun. I see a lot of incorrectly indexed A2s. That and unstaked keys and buttstocks really stand out to me when I'm looking at ARs. |

And Smith Enterprise is not out of business:

| Pretty hard to go wrong with ANY AR for $500! If you don't like the configuration, you could alwys change the barrel/upper/stock, whatever, and still have not too much in it. Sell the barrel if you don't like it, but hell, I'd just go shoot it first, see if you like it the way it is. With a barrel that heavy, it jsut might be a tack driver. |
