Hey guys,  I've been bumming around here for a few months, scrounging parts and information, and I really appreciate all the help and know-how I've gotten out of this forum.  So, out of a long list of projects, I've got three mostly complete (enough to shoot).

I've got the triggerguards off for anodizing, which should come soon, and I need to send the charging handles as well.  And now the NDS601s are ready,.......

I bought the XM/604 off the EE last December and got a hell of a nice rifle.  I switched the pins for dimpled ones and put on a sling.  Only thing thats left is to get the triggerguard gray.

The A1 is one of the camo uppers from the EE last fall, I couldn't believe that underneath that paint the upper was almost new.  I left a litle bit of paint on in some places rather than risk screwing up the finish!  Wound up with the really nice stock and pistol grip recently and I think it came out well!

Here's the beat 653 - sill have a little to do on this one, like the forward assist - anybody got any teardrops shoot me an IM.

Here's the same lower with the GAU-5A/A upper - barrel work by 45Bravo - AWESOME.  Looks much better than the 653 but I have other plans for this upper.......Can't wait to get my greasy hands on the 601 lower for the slabside carbine project to come to fruition.

thanks for all the help you guys have given me - hard to believe I didn't have a clue or care about RETRO this time last year.  Thanks to everyone I've gotten parts from (and if I left you out, sorry,  memory loss is a bitch) :  NODAK SPUD for rocking the serious retro-ness, 45Bravo, QUIET, Heatnbeat, RMiller, C6H12O6, ExMsgt, Jeremey2171, canon3825, MarkRSims, Gunbroker, Ohio Ordnance, Numrich GPC, Essential Arms, Naval Jelly!, Jasco paint stripper, PB Blaster, CLP, etc.

Crap madman. I had two teardrop assemblies I sold on the EE today. Contact QUIET, I think he told me he had some. Those are some seriously nice rifles, by the way! I'm getting to send off packages to Heatnbeat, Victor, 45Bravo, and a fat check to NDS.

Nice work!

I almost bought one of those camo uppers.  Now I'm kicking myself.

What did you use to remove the paint?

You have been busy young man, everything looks great! That's a lot of parts in a short period of time, are you tired of eating canned beans yet?

Thanks guys!

I used Jasco spray-on paint stripper.  It will strip your hide off, too, if you get it on you.

I won't pretend that I live on canned beans, they're far too expensive and I certainly don't make enough to live on that fancy stuff!  More like dry beans and pilfered gas station condiments.
