| I recently sold one of my nicer Colt revolvers to get a Marlin 1894C .357. I loved the Colt, but wanted the Marlin even more. I also confess to having sold a S&W Model 60 a while back to fund my first AR. Thinking about parting with a Model 36, but I don't think I can bring myself to. |

Every time I've done things like that I've regretted it a year or two down the road when I'm into those firearms again. I've had to rebuy the same models before only at a higher cost. I'll never again sell a firearm to finance another. I'll only want it back and beat myself to death a year or so later.
You're into retro AR's now...but next year will you miss your German pistols? Don't sell anything else. Searching gunbroker and lame ass gunshows to rebuy your surrendered models of guns is a real bitch. Trust me..... I know from experience. |
| I agree whole heartedly with Jar420,,and also M1G..I've regretted some sales to finance other projects,,,BUT IT'S KILLIN ME TO HAVE TO SELL STUFF TO KEEP UP WITH BILLS as I'm out of work right now..Some items I will NEVER be able to replace, like original GI M1 garand sniper stuff... Those prices make retro AR stuff look cheap!!!!! |
| Everyone I know who has sold or traded guns always has regrets. I still own every gun I've ever bought, even the junk ones, even the ones I don't really like. But then all my guns are shooters, not collector types. There are a few that I regret not buying when I had the chance. |
