I have a reworked M16A1 upper (marked LM) that's deep purple, so is the CH. I agree that it looks like a Bushmaster, but this one is USGI. It's one of the ones you could get for $250 complete with the M16 bolt and CH back in the day.

Charging handles are same IIRC.

The purple just means the anodizer didn't change out their chemicals properly.

I bet you have that album...I bet you still have a turntable!!!

My girlfriend back in '72 had a purple Gremlin...yuck...she called it "Purple Haze"...I wouldn't be seen in it...  

BTW: What happened to the pics??? Were there any pics??? (Of the upper, I mean)...
