Is / was there ever any furniture that matched the mottled grips like these?
Any pics of mottled furniture would be nice to see.

If your talking black furniture, only stocks come close.

Brown furniture, everything is so called mottled.

Talking about black stocks.
Would like to see some pics of more extreme mottling.
If the grips were mottled with so much brown/black, then why not the stocks?

Only the original brown furniture was that mottled. Some of the black stocks made after the brown had some mottling but not like the grips. None of the black handguards ever showed any real mottling. They did turn a very shiny black after use though.

I have some pretty mottled black stocks, but they're in storage.
They are not as mottled as some grips but have that snow flake look.

Camera flash can make them look more mottled with a more light brown look to it.

I really can't explain the science of the differences in the dye impregnation.  Some look like leopards, and some are very subtle.

Those pics are better than viagra

To the op, find the pay it forward thread posted here and look on page 8 at the stock marked 4 in the pic. It looks pretty mottled, or at least more than any other black stock I have seen. Granted, its seen better days.

I have some black stocks that look like your grips.  I also have a set of handguards that have a little bit of the mottled look.  I also have some of the brown mottled pistol grips that have green paint (mostly worn off) on them.

I have a mottled non-trapdoor stock and a mottled A1 trapdoor stock - the non-trapdoor Type D is a perfect match for the first mottled PG I ever bought. The trapdoor is more of a snowflake effect, but definite swirls. I've seen pics of clearly mottled black HGs, but have never found a pair.
