[ARCHIVED THREAD] - Colt receiver?
Posted:

This A1 receiver just came to me last week:
It's got at least partial proof marks that look like the right stuff:
And the barrel that came off it is marked "C MP C" appropriately enough.
But I hadn't seen machining quite like thise before:
Granted I haven't had my hands on many A1s, but I had to ask if this looks like Colt work. If not, what might it be?

I would say that's a Colt. But if you have any doubts, I could use it for a XM177E2 build!
BTW, does it have the recessed front lug?

Nope; I think that's visible in the top shot.

Top shot shows rt side of upper, the recess would be on the left.

I'll go look.
ETA - Nope.

Nope, the recessed lug (or counter bored) would be visible from the other side.
ETA: A little slow tonight.

I guess I should have said "counter bored".
