Just looking for some input or advice on building an A1 type rifle.
How hard is it to find an older A1 type lower ?  (I say type because I'm referring to all mfg just not Colt).
Are they worth the extra cost over an A2 or current production lower ?
I know it depends on how far I want to go with detail, but mostly just the basic look.

Very easy...just look here:

Yes it is very worth it IMHO to have the correct look.

+1

They also have excellent fit and finish.  I don't think anyone has ever been dissatisfied that they bought one.

I was dissatisfied...I should have bought two while they were in stock.

Go NDS, no doubt.
Aren't many old lowers out there; few SP1s.
The GI lowers are machineguns.
The NDS lowers came out at JUST the right time; I was ready to give up and use some sort of A2 lower to finish my build.

I was dissatisfied too. I could only afford a 601 and an A1 instead of two 601s, two XMs, and two A1s!
NoDak Spuds kick everybody else's ass!!!
