Is there any reason that a A2 buffer tube assembly would not work with an A1 trapdoor stock?  Are they all the same length, etc even though the A2 stock is longer?

ETA:
What do you all recommend as a source for the parts to assemble the lower...(fcg, etc)...is DPMS good for this stuff or should I spend a little more on stuff somewhere else??

Yes, a standard rifle tube, buffer and spring will work. Since the A2 stock is a little longer, they just added a spacer and a longer butt screw. You will thus need the short A1 butt screw or you can cut an A2 screw in half. I'm fond of RRA lpk's. I order them from Pete at Legal Transfers. Never used DPMS.

A2 & A1 buffer tube are the same thing, except for maybe the finish on some A1 tubes. Just lose the spacer that fits between the A2 butt stock & the tube, & your tube will fit the A1 stock.

Measure the thickness of the threaded area on the rear of the buffer tube before you cut an A2 Screw. I just did that last week, and the screw ended up being pretty short. Less than 1/2 length.
