Are AN/PVS-2's worth playing around with? Are they available for sale?

I remember seeing a ton of them for sale a few years ago, but they seemd pretty expensive for a toy, which is what i'd guess they really are. Still, one would be pretty cool on top of a retro rifle.

My Uncle has one on his M14 clone.  It works fairly well, although it is rather bulky.

IIRC he had to fabricate some sort of adaptor to use commonly available batteries with it.

I used to have an AN/PVS2 mounted on my semi XM177E2.....weighed more than an M249 SAW.

Hmmm, when you say "enjoy," do you mean leaving the spotlight at home when you hunt deer, shoot zombies like Charlton Heston in The Omega Man, or something else...

Cool Rifle!

From what I understand, they weigh something like 7.5 lbs! Cool item though for static defense.
