Anyone have any experience with the Colt MP marked chrome bolts and full auto?
Are there any that are marked MPC?

I plan to use one in my M16 upper and would appreciate any advice you guys may have.

Thanks,

The military had plenty of experience. :)  If I'm not mistaken, the MP C mark started around 1968 and chrome bolts were no longer being produced.

I fired many thousands of rounds through my chrome bolt/carrier equipped M16 in Vietnam.  Never had a bolt or carrier problem.  I wasn't really into "recreational" AR's at that time and don't recall if our GI guns had any "MP" markings on the bolts.

All the early Colt bolts are marked MP.  They added the C when other companies started producing M16s.

Why would you need a chrome bolt?  They are collectible.  Get a newer one for shooting and the chrome one for showing off

ETA:  Yes, they hold up on auto

Early Colt bolts are marked with a P or MP.

601/602 bolts are marked with a large or small P depending on how old they are.

Thanks for the info guys, I buy parts and guns to shoot, they show off just fine that way!
