[ARCHIVED THREAD] - XM-177 chrome lined?

Looking to start my XM project and most uppers offered are not chrome lined. Is this correct or does it matter. Thanks.

I believe even the earliest XM177E1's had chrome chambers even before the standard XM16's had them.

IMO if you are going SBR it will be to your benefit to get at least a barrel with a chrome chamber.

XMs were not chrome lined. Not sure about chamber, but bore was never chromed.

The XM177E1 and GAU-5A do not have any chrome lining.

The XM177E2 and GAU-5A/A have a chrome chamber only.
