I know the original pencil barrel is a lot lighter, but does anyone know the difference in weight between a standard M16A1 barrel and a 20" HBAR? I'm just curious. I know the lighter barrel handles better.

I believe the M16A1 runs about 6 1/2 pounds and the A2 runs about 7 1/2.

A  LOT ........I swapped out my A2 Hbar for a A2 Gov. prof and the difference was stunning. Now to go from an Hbar to a 20"A1 barrel would be a phenominal change. I dont know the differance in #s but Hbar means HEAVY BARREL. Literally... not heavy duty but HEAVY.

I dont like em.
