Ive asked for advice on this barrel a few times to try to determine if the flash suppressor was welded or pinned, or something.
Well y`all have tried to help me as much as possible dealing with a sight-unseen situation. I think I found some evidence the FS is welded et al. At exactly 6 O`Clock there is a small dark area on the main tube about 1/4" from the first ring and an identical spot on the high side of the last ring. That would be from muzzle to butt. I had it in bright sunlite using a glass but they are there. Does this sound right? Is that where they would appear? I sure hope so cuz Im afraid to take the dang thing out of the house.

if you want to be sure, addco or ar15barrels.com can perm. attach it very cheap, around $20.

that said, it has the funky 5.5" extended flashhider and it does not buge with a wrench (50+ ftlbs), it is probably ok, but then again the previous owner might have just locktited a 5.5FH on a 11.5" barrel, which is not considered permanant
