 Those straps were meant for use on practically anything in the military that could be slung over your shoulder. First thing that comes to mind when I see them is como. We used to have them attached to our rolls of Field Phone wire. They do make neat slings. I cut the clips off mine and inserted 550 cord through the ends, sort of an Israeli sling clone. |

They were also used on medical aid bags. I've think I've got 3 of them around the house here. One on an old aid bag, one hanging on my arms room (well, basement workshop) wall, and believe it of not, I've got one on my leaf blower out in the garage. Yes, they were a pretty much universal shoulder strap. Oh, they also work nice as a retro, field expedient sling on an M16. Doc |
