Hey everybody , I,am building a ar9 pistol so I bought a 9mm 1/2x36 smith vortex flash hider for it. my question is do I need to use a crush washer between the barrel and flash hider.

Only if you care about where it times to (the orientation of the tines). Otherwise you can use a lock washer or regular flat washer and be done with it.
