My new AR-15 458 SOCOM build will extract and eject the fired empty just fine with the charging handle

BUT when fired the action is not cycled by the gas system.

I have an adjustable gas block opened way up.

The barrel is an 8 inch Tromix with matching bolt.

Your thoughts and ideas are appreciated.

Is it a 2 way gas block?

ie restrictive and bleed off?

The block has an allan head set screw mounted 90degrees from the axis of the gas tube.

Crank it all the way in and you shut off the gas, turn it out and you meter more gas to the bolt.

If you have an air compressor you can check and get a good idea of the amount of gas going through the tube.

I don't like that type.  It may be clogged.  Turn it all the way in and then back out.  Test fire.

Consider changing to SLR Sentry.  I really like mine.

Thanks, I have a large air compressor.

I used the air gun attachment with a rubber cone tip.  The air blasts right through the muzzle into the gas block and then to the gas tube into the action, so I am really at a loss now !

I estimated it had to be the alignment of the block and or the tube but apparently not so ?

Is there an established gunsmith in my Maryland area that could take a look at it?

Thanks,

John
