What weight Buffer do you guys run in your .556 AR Pistols ?

I ask because I thought an H2 would be a good start for my upcoming pistol build.

Too many small variables to say. If whatever you're buying comes with standard carbine buffer, I'd start with that.

No issues with a carbine buffer in my new 7.5" radical pistol.
About 220 rounds thru it with a few mag dumps for good measure.

H2 is what I highly recommend. Also make sure you upgrade the bolt extractor and ejector springs with something like Wolff or DavidTubb springs.

i started with H2 and standard buffer spring but ended up with H3 and Red Sprinco.

It really depends on how big the gas port is. On a properly sized port a carbine or H buffer is preferred. On a over gassed barrel a heavier buffer and or spring will be needed.

In the case of OregonFeralDog above, he has no where to go once his gas port erodes, as they all do. He will instead be replacing his barrel.

Most barrels have gas ports that will allow the gun to function with weak .223 and mil 5.56.  An H2 is generally a good place to start. If you don't have a buffer yet, I recommend checking out KAK's configurable buffer kit.
