I built up a pistol recently and it is a freakin blast to shoot but the gas blow back is eye burning to say the least. I was running a YHM comp which made the issue worse so I went back to a standard A2 flash hider. Any of you guys using a linear comp(pig, ice, claymore etc) that can chime in if that might help the issue. I know the obvious solution is to put a stock on it and get it further away from my face but that will be a while till a form1 comes back.

Thanks

Get a gas buster charging handle, or do the RTV silicone trick.  Heavier buffer to slow down the cyclic rate might help a little.

Even the new GunFighter handles have extra material to block gas.

Thanks for the tips guys. I had assumed it was from the side ports andthe barrel but I just put a bcm handle on so I'll give that a try first with the rtv fix as well.

If it has a hole for a fwd assist you can get a vent to go there, I have one on mine.

You dont say what size barrel, but I am running a 7.5" in  5.56, pistol gas tube, m16 carrier, phase 5 ambi charging handle, H2 buffer, Troy claymore compensator.
No blowback, no issues whatsoever it is really a pleasure to shoot

Thanks

RTV is the easiest solution.

Its is a 7.5" upper. The BCM charging handle was better and taking the YHM comp off made a huge difference. Still need to add the RTV and wwant to put a linear comp on still. Runs great, no cycling issues.
