It looks really sweet! Is the AFG considered to be a "vertical foregrip" or not? I had a similar build in mind, but I was unsure about it because I don't want it to be an AOW. AFG is gtg. http://www.ar15.com/forums/t_3_122/509408__ARCHIVED_THREAD____Official_Response_From_ATF_on_Magpul_AFG_for_AR_15_Pistols__Letter_Added_.html&page=1 Op, nice looking pistol. |

It's standard 556. The optic is going to be some sort of holographic sight like the Burris FastFire 3 or maybe eotech.
Got this thing built for a little over $1g PSA stripped lower (+ 5 pmags), PSA MOE LPK, Spikes H2 buffer, YHM FF rail, ASAP. The upper is a generic keyhole forged upper, AIM FA BCG, 7.5" barrel 1/9 twist. This is going to just be a fun plinker for him. Probably gonna toss a BAD Lever on it as well for him. |

Took it to the range again today.
I ordered a heavier spikes buffer from BCM and then found out a friend had what he believed to be an H3 buffer for his gun. So I swapped in his H3 buffer with my buffer spring and then with his buffer spring and it STILL appears to be cycling too fast and causing the 2nd round to feed before the spent shell is extracted. I'll wait a bit longer and see if the spikes buffer changes anything. If not it looks like I may have to go with an adustable gas block or perhaps the phase 5 pig-tail gas tube? |

maybe try a different buffer spring as well? They make some lower and higher powered springs.
Damage industries has some enhanced springs. I'm starting my own PSA pistol build (will probably go with a 10.5" barrel), so I'm in the middle of trying to buy the right parts from the start to avoid the same problems you're describing. |

Back from another range trip. Put the Spikes T2 in, and it seemed to help a bit. I even got one burst of about 10-14the rounds off but it would jam every 3-4 rounds.
I think the next step is low profile adjustable gas block. Any suggestions one a block that is adjustable from the front(with the rail in place/installed) and with a set screw. I had read a bit that 7.5"or pistols can be finicky but not this bad. Ill have lots of spare parts at the end of this. |

you could also check out the Mcfarland 1 piece gas ring. Brownells has them for less than $5. I know they get put in MK18's along with heavier buffers, so maybe that will help I will look into that. Should I also purchase an upgraded extractor and o-ring? I see a lot of pistol guys upgrade that. |
