I'm getting a pistol AR-15. Right now I'm up between the PWS Diablo or their 10.5" pistol. Thoughts? Suggestions? Smart remarks?

10.5

there are very substantial differences ballsitically and reliability wise

the longer the better ––12.5 being the apex

10.5  !!! Might as well get a M-4.

I'll go the opposite direction...

ZERO issues with my Diablo and very maneuverable/concealable... Not sure what you want the pistol for, but that extra 3.5 inches may matter a lot or not at all.

I'd buy/use again in a heartbeat.

I went 11.5.
When I bought mine, the two choices they had in stock were 10.5 or 11.5. I went with 11.5 and never regretted it.
The inch extra in length doesn't bother me, its still handy to carry, and I'm getting the most velocity possible out of a pistol barrel.

edit for clarity.

Eh, when it comes to piston pistols, the length of the gas system is not an issue when it comes to reliability.

My opinion is (for whatever that's worth) if you're going to get a pistol, get the shortest one possible that will operate reliably. Considering the fact that most pistols still have receiver extensions, a 7.5" bbl pistol will still be almost 2 feet long (with a standard A2 flash hider). A 16.1" bbl rifle (including a perm attached muzzle device) will be 32.5" long with a fully collapsed stock. A 12.5" bbl pistol will 29" long which, in my opinion, defeats the purpose of an AR pistol which is having a small footprint.

The Diablo is very reliable, and the point of a pistol is to be as small as possible.  Even the Diablo Pistol is not small, so I say get the Diablo!!  You won't regret it!!

Thanks for the input guys. I'm kicking around maybe making it an SBR down the road but i don't know yet. That $200 tax stamp is quite the downer
