I keep reading about guys using modified Pmags at reduced capacity in 7.62x39 applications..
What are guys doing to mod these magazines? |

Looking down @ the top, you'll see two small lips running all the way down on each side, preventing the follower from tilting..... Use a dremel or other tool to cut those off/remove them...
I can get about 18 rounds in a 20 round magazine..... Courtesy of GGGBeo50... Link It isnt rocket science. Push the tab in the bottom of the mag to release the bottom cover. Slide spring and follower out. Now look down through the mag and notice the obstructions on the left and right side near the front of the mag going all the way to the bottom. Those two little panels/rails need to be cut flush with the rest of the mag wall. It will not interrupt the follower movement once put back together as long as there isnt any burrs. those tabs is what pushed the bullet tips of the 7.62 X 39 inwards, binding them so they wont stack and feed properly. Obviously you wouldnt be able to do this to a steel mag because you would cut through those rails adn the mag would be in 2 pieces. Let me try and do a little drawing via dashes and spaces.... ...___ ./.......\ /_......._\ see the little tabs? I..........I I..........I I..........I I..........I I_______I |
