| Im not sure of the weight of the bcg but it is muchg heavier than my rifle bcg.The hammer came with tthe kit.The guys at gse took a look at the pistol last week after my buddy was having the problem they said all parts are installed correctly but the hammer would need to be ground down a bit.The bc is designed to have the spring go around the rear portion as seen in the pick at the top of the page and it is not solid at the end. |

Forgot to add the guys at gse looked at the pistol and told my buddy to grind down the hammer.I told him that did not sound right and let me give the arfcoom guys a chance to look at it first. This makes sense to me. If the hammer sits to high, it will drag on the lower part of the bolt and cause binding. Remove the upper from the lower. Cock the hammer and set the selector to SAFE. Now file off a small portion of the highest peak of the hammer. Reattach the upper and pull the charge handle back to see if the bolt still binds. If you file a little at a time, and stay away from the face of the hammer, you shouldn't hurt anything. If you take off too much, the bolt will clear the hammer, but won't be able to lock the hammer back. You will have a full auto weapon and need to purchase a new hammer. I had to do the same thing to my DPMS LR-308 AP4 when I installed a RRA 2 stage trigger assembly. The bolt would drag on the peak of the hammer and bind. ETA: If you want to make sure it is the hammer that is binding, remove it from the lower and see if the bolt still binds when you pull back on the charging handle. |

The GSE Pistol Buffer kit usually looks like this: http://www.gunsmokeenterprises.net/Buffer_Recoil_Kit.jpg Is the buffer guide rod missing? What he has is the NEW GSE pistol BCG and tube. Does not need a guide rod, buffer or anything besides what he's got. As someone else stated, did you make sure the buffer retainer was removed? And don't tell me a bufferless pistol won't work or run 100%:

Quality Control at it's finest. "We f'd-up on this part. Here, you bought it you fix it." Luckily I never got to this stage with GSE as I could tell what their fine print really meant and got to see their customer skills in action in person. You'd figure the MkII of a design would actually be an improvement...
Just looked at their site. Apparently the MkII design was bad enough that even they ditched it and went back to the old model. (Wrong. Shitty navigation led me to believe this. They're still foisting the new version on unsuspecting rubes. ETA: At least with the old model you just have to buy the $80 modified buffer tube from them and aren't out all the $$$ when you get done pulling your hair out. The new system was what? $600 for a kit IRRC. |

Exactly what I thought how do you sell a customer a product and then when the customer finds out it does not work you tell them f u you fix it.To say the least grinding the hammer down was suspect .That has got to be one of the dumbest things I have ever heard out of a vendor.I had to explain to my friend if you grind to much you could be in for a world of hurt.

Well, then who the hell else is selling these? Who the hell else is selling AR pistol kits with a modified BCG & full length carbine spring? hmmmm |

Well, then who the hell else is selling these? Who the hell else is selling AR pistol kits with a modified BCG & full length carbine spring? hmmmm Sounds about right. The first time I asked about the pistols at the Ft. Lauderdale Gunshow a couple years ago, the guy there (Ed. Jr. I guess) stated that he didn't carry them and 'that' GSE was a separate entity. (Which also has lowers with the same roll marks and info on them?) Later I walked by and he was talking to another customer and talking about 'their' pistols and how it was his dad that usually dealt with them. A couple gunshows later I wound up buying a lower from them at $100 OTD. Some aluminum black took care of that tacticool 'Navy Seaulzā¢' logo. Fast forward to after the election, I asked if they had brought any lowers to sell at the show. The answer I got? "We don't and we never have sold stripped lowers." I guess they can't give 'em away now judging by the price on their website. If you ever want to find the GSE booth at your gunshow, just look for the tables with the salespeople with their backs to the customers and getting pissed off because the customers have the gall to inquire about prices on items they couldn't be bothered to mark. (Usually most of the stuff on their tables.) Also look for the half-heartedly hidden piles of discarded airsoft accessory boxes. |
