How does this thing go on

What part acts as the buffer and does it look like everything's there?

Attach the tube to your lower.

The bottom piece you have pictured goes in the carrier, the recoil spring slips into that.  The guide rod goes on, then the end cap.

So the silver metal piece just stands on end in the end cap, what about the washer?

Go to this page, toward the bottom you will find your answer.  Post pictures of your pistol when you are done.

Unknown upper and buffer tube assembly out of the EE
DPMS LPK
DPMS B/BC/CH
Mega lower
Ergo grip

I've got a cheapo red dot on the way that hopefully will be here today for the range tomorrow if not I'll still take it out there for a function check.

Thanks again for the help!!

Hey Ghetto, let me know how the pistol buffer works for you.  I want one for my pistol build but all the bad reports scare me.

This is my first pistol and I really didn't do any research, the buffer came with the upper so if it doesn't work well then it'll be in the EE and I'll buy a rifle buffer tube.

Hopefully I'll have at least a function report on Friday.

Yes ..please give us a function report...I have two such tubes but I've heard that that don't perform well.  I'm anxious to hear how your pistol performs.

We await.

Thanks guys and now a function report!!

My wife and I drove down to the local range today and put 90rds through it, it functioned perfect on the first and last mag but the middle mag it gave me some problems but it's a safe bet that it was mag problems and not gun problems. I'm still waiting on my optics to come in so today was just a function check.

..and well it functioned

Put out a nice big fireball as well

Any clue what brand of mags you used or at least which mags worked and which mag didn't worked?  The buffer looks like GSE.

Just curious to see if the buffer spring will hold up.  I have two of the kits and the springs seem rather fragile.  Do any of you huys know if a better spring is available?
I like the shorter tube...but lets see if the spring hold up.  Thanks for the review of your new pistol and GOOD LUCK!

I believe the springs are the 1911 style that are available from a lot of reliable manufacturers. They are also available in assorted weights, progressive ratings, etc..

I would be curious to see if another spring from a glock, sig, etc. pistol would work between the ID of the 45 spring and the shaft that acts as the rear bolt stop. The spring would have to be wound in the opposite direction of the 45 spring.
