I finished my Pistol build this week and finally got out on Sunday afternoon for a range test.

DPMS Lower (purchased from R-Guns Firearms)
DPMS Kitty Kay Upper w/ RRA Bolt (purchased from from PK Firearms)

The shooting went well, for the first 40 rounds.  Then I had a series of Failures to Extract - three in a row - which lead to a pair of double feeds.  Total of about 45 rounds expended.

The weather was cold - high of 15 degrees and freezing rain/snow throughout the day.  I was shooting as the temperature declined so I wonder if the lubrication gummed up a little.  I was also limiting my cheek contact to the buffer tube due to the cold.

I've now added a D-Ring to increase my extractor power.  Hope that fixes it!

The freezing cold range

Thanks to all the posters on AR-15.com - this was a big part of my success in this build.

My CMMG pistol had a very tight chamber which led to failures to extract when new.  Polished it and fixed that problem...FYI.

LOVE my AR pistol.!

Since you're using a CAR length buffer tube, you might think about replacing the collapsible stock tube you've got on there with the Model-1 pistol tube.  It comes with the foam cover and that makes cheek weld shooting MUCH more comfortable.

Looking good!! What the heck is that white stuff on the ground? Looks like the beaches down here.
+1 on the tube replacment. Try taking your drill and putting it on a barrel cleaning rod with a chamber brush and run it forwords and back words a few times to smooth out the chamber just a little and see if it helps some.

Gator.

Gota love them AR15 pistols!! Most fun you can have with your pants on.
