Hi folks, I currently have a factory new RRA receiver on it's way up from Kentucky. I would love to build it into a pistol and had a couple question regarding the transfer. Do I need to have it transferred to me as a pistol? Can I have it transferred to me as a pistol? Is it possible to have it transferred a just a stripped lower (not a rifle or pistol specifically)? It is not a RRA "pistol" lower, but it has most definitely not been built as a rifle previously. Thanks for the help. |
| From what I can tell you would list it as a "New stripped lower" on the 4473. It should be built as a pistol for the FIRST build. You could also call it a "New pistol lower", but I don't think that is necessary. Do a search, I think this subject has been beaten to death. |

a receiver that has never had a stock can be made into a pistol. With that in mind, you can transfer it as you wish. It is typically recommended to transfer it as a pistol receiver, or annotate that it is stripped. However, federal law wise, there is no legal requirement one way or another. YMMV, i am not a lawyer, and don't play one on tv. |
No
You can. But they insist on insurance and overnight UPS and all kinds of transfer charges.
Best way to do it. |
