Hindsight is worth 20/20 as they say, If I'd been more patient (yeah, right) it would have been that much sweeter a deal to get this done. While I was building the 300 BO rig, I worked on getting my 11.3" 5.56 build (WC barrel) down to a reasonable weight as well. It was ~ 8.5lbs with the suppressor. I opted to do the same WML, buttstock, Optic system, traditional spring & buffer (T2) and titanium MD (went brake on this one.) It's a Mega billet lower so it'll always be a tad heavy, but I still got it down to 6lb 3oz without the can. YHM Turbo-K & Griffin Plan A Hub adds ~ 11oz. I like that much better. I've got a KAK 9.8" rail system for this too, probably won't save much if any weight over the G MK8. For now, it'll work. The 300 BO's big brother

heres my blaster put together. Sadly only have a few S&B ammo since I never got too interested in 300BO. I do want this a HD gun. Will run supers but will need to get some more ammo to test out. Wish my suppressor was in better alignment but rod isn't touching so will send it and hope for the best.

got the rifle to the range this morning. I only had S&B 147gr and 200gr on hand. Did some testing with the Superlative Arms Adjustable gas block. Got it set to where the supers shoot out around 3:30/4 and lock back. The 200gr subs also dribble out about 2' and still lock back. Need to pick up some 110/115s for HD and testing. Only did about 50rds but all flawless so far. |

Got the Noveske pulled and Wilson Combat installed. They both weigh 1#.065oz on my kitchen scale, but the Wilson seems like it may balance better based on profile. The Wilson has a much smaller gas port, but still larger than my BRT gas tube, so I kept it on the build. The Noveske is honestly huge  . I like the finish on the Noveske a little better, but it shows marks more easily (like sliding the gas block on). Only thing I don't like is my gap now.... Great pics Spyderboy03. Interesting the WC is actually 8.25" (properly measured.) I had no idea on that.. And the gas port being smaller than the Noveske is good to know too. They've all got their own thoughts on what that should be no doubt. Gat looks good! |

Ya know, I guess I'm glad the WC is 8.25" as it stands. With my setup and the KAK 7.2" rail everything fits without drama. If the WC barrel was indeed 8" I don't think all my stuff would've worked out.. I guess it might have, but would be really close..

I never fully set it up because as it is a bit of a piggy, and I found that due to its thickness, with certain rails I could not use the QD slots in the rail. So it only has a few rounds through it. But I will say this. Side by side, they are not the same length. So I'm not sure what is going on. Edit - WC has an 8" and an 11.3". Was getting confused. BA Hanson and WC next to an 8" MI Combat rail. Gas port is bigger on the WC.

@panthermark Interesting size comparo between the BA Hanson & WC overall length. We've already established the WC is more like ~ 8.25" and from the looks of it the BA Hanson barrel should be labeled / marketed more like ~ 8.5" I have no idea why these Mfg's can't get an industry standard going for actual barrel length.. strange. That BA barrel looks beefy! |

That BA barrel looks beefy! The Hanson is indeed a chonk. I could not use my rail QD's as it would bottom out on the barrel, especially with Aero rails. So it is more of a spare barrel at this point. When I put the 8" rail on, there are about 2 threads showing on the WC barrel. I'm no longer sure what the exact measurements are anymore. WC barrel is supposed to be 8". BA Hanson is supposed to be 8.3". I think I have a PSA 8.5" barrel that is in "spare" mode that I can look at as well, just to compare. |
