Bring on the new and improved SFAR ! When it comes back we need ; 358 winchester 338 federal 7-08 243 winchester * maybe a SFAR spinoff that spotlights the 222 family with ruger 204 wildcats like 6-204 and 25-204 . . . Maybe a 6.8 or 7-204 . |

Point I'm making is gun and accessory manufacturers say all kinds of things that turn out not to be true. Not sure if it's ignorant reps or salespeople, or they just like to keep things tight lipped. So just because you hear something from some random person at Ruger, don't be so sure they're giving you the real truth. Do you have info to the contrary I’m not trying to get in any arguments or anything like that, my intent was to just make the point that the reps, salespeople, customer service, etc. often say things that turn out to be false. |

All good! Appologies if that came off a bit curt. Appreciate you relaying what you hear and know - big time! Honestly, who knows. The Rep is likely less in-the-know, but also less diplomatically motivated to temper a story. So who knows. I personally do think it is being moved, and also semi-guessing that getting production back on track isn't priority #1 either. So I'm guessing this is being slow rolled. |

I'd get customers at the show,"Can you get me a .308 lower?" I'd always ask em if they'd already bought parts, and if not, I'd tell em to take a hard look at the Ruger SFAR. The POF is a taller reach for most folks, we're into running used car territory. |

One of the most frustrating lessons I learned from working in the industry was that accurate info was really hard to come by. There were so many times I had customers get mad because I had passed on bad info from well informed normally reliable people. So frustrating. Got to where I would always just add the disclaimer that we should wait and see what actually happens. |

I got one ARFCOMer a few times w/"The Last of the Anderson Lowers." ![]() I got hosed so many times. I have two that I always remember one that annoys me and one I laugh about. Somewhere in the 08-10ish Sig had a problem getting magazines so they made the decision to start shipping one magazine per gun instead of the usual two. Did they give us a heads up? No. Did they change the sku number so we would at least be able to tell them apart? No. I had customers that thought we were stealing them and their customers thought they were stealing them. Total shit show. Around when Remington came out with the 105CTI a couple of their people came out to educate us on a bunch of their new stuff including the wonder shotgun. They were nice enough to book some time at the shotgun club and took us all out to shoot. The guy who ran the gun shop attached to the club was pretty well known as knowing his shit about shotguns. I don't remember the details because it's been so long but I think he had worked in sales, shot, and worked on the guns. While the Remington dude was showing off the 105cti before we shot he picked it up and looked in the action and got a weird look on his face. He looks right at the Remington dude and says "you guys got this to work?" he then named off a few other companies that had tried a similar system and failed. The Remington dude instantly looked offended and assured him and all of us that these were well tested and proven platforms made to perform against premium guns. We go out to the line and gun #1 fails almost immediately. Gun #2 took a bit longer but it failed as well. I think that one broke bad enough he couldn't fix it but was able to use a part or parts to get the other working. Total embarassment. Real shame because that gun felt great and pointed well for me. When were all done we had to leave through the club and the Remington dude didn't say a word. Hilarious. |

Now only 1 mag. Their .45s only came w/ one mag, that I knew. But they do let me put cheap 1911s on the table. Gonna send you an IM. |

For the Revolution, sure. POF has newer SKUs that are more affordable. You can find the new LMR Base for under $1200 and the 18.5 Rogue for under $1400 online. |

Finally got the SFAR to the range with rifle speed gas block. Suppressed getting 2 o’clock ejection at setting 1. Smaller plunger for SFAR normal? AAC 168 was 1.5 moa. Trying 175 FGMM next. 150AAC was 3+ moa but I’ve had that experience with a few guns and that ammo ETA: riflespeed recommends different plunger for 308s. .937 plunger ordered. . |

Whats also weird is the 147/150s POI were 6" up from the 168s at 100m. At 225m I was missing a 12x12 plate high with the 147, center mass with 168s. ETA: ETA: .937 plunger is the ticket for suppressed 16” Bedded barrel extension with .001 shim and green loctite, 175 FGMM .8-1.2 moa today. Pretty satisfied with that |
| Assuming you’re shooting commercial ammo. Seems going heavier tightens up. Go buy a box of 178 ELD’s to see if it tightens up more. I’m shooting 168 A Max in mine. 168 ELD’s didn’t work out for me. I have a bolt action 308 that doesn’t like match bullets. It shoots 200 gr ELD X , cloverleaf’s @100 yards. Don’t be surprised a hunting bullet shoots better than match bullets. Some barrels are just finicky as hell. |

I bought a new Ruger SFAR 20 inch in 6.5mm Creedmoor. The first shot went OK and the bolt locked back. That was the last time it functioned correctly. So I put 150 shots through it, in 3 sessions. I cleaned after each session and lubed the crap out of it. Finally I took the gas system apart and it was full of muck and aluminum shavings. So I cleaned that out, put in a Tubb's AR10 buffer spring and set the gas system to number 3. It now runs 100% with the Magpul 10 round magazine. I hope they start up again, I want a 6mm Creedmoor. P.S. My last target was 4X and a 10 on the MR-31 target from a bipod. I'm good with that. |

Thought about selling my 20 inch version but it’s so dam accurate I would probably regret it. |

Given the POF rifle Ruger copied for the SFAR is a full pound lighter, I think there might be some weight they could trim. |

My SFAR is still trucking along. Never had reliability issues with it stock, but did add an HB Industries gas regulator and their handguard to my 20 inch 308. Last time I had it out it ran 100 rounds of IMI 168gr match. 5 shot groups around 1.5 moa. Still trying to get better shooting at the bench off bags. Kinda hoping a 2nd Generation gets made. I think they are a decent concept that just needs some bugs worked out |
