Finally bit the bullet and removed my tried and true SWS E1 hand guard and replaced it with the 15.5" SLR ION.  The weight difference is amazing.
The E1 with barrel nut was something like 20.5 oz.  The SLR is closer to 13 oz. and most of that must be in the barrel nut because the tube feels like a feather in your hand.
I hated I waited as long as I did.  I did put a rail section on the end for a bipod but otherwise love the clean look and feel.

The only knock is that the QD sling mount hole closest to the receiver will not accept a push button...well it will if the barrel wasn't in the way.  The push button hits the barrel preventing it from locking in place.
I'm using some para cord right now.  I'll probably end up getting an MLOK QD socket sometime down the road.

I bought an 11.5" upper from a fellow Arfcomer that has the 10.7" Ion Lite. I have a 9" SOLO Lite on another upper but wasn't sure I'd like the ION Lite. I was wrong, it's great! With the Faxon Gunner barrel I had to swap stocks to the Mission First Tactical Battlelink to drop some stock weight so the rifle wasn't butt heavy. Now its perfect with an 11.4oz suppressor and my new favorite. Set up with a T2 and Troy BUIS it is a lightweight joy to shoot.

I use an H&K hook at the end plate and the front QD mount with no issues. Haven't tried the rear QD position.

Had the same issue with the rear qd socket hitting the barrel with an ALG handguard on my 458 socom, I just ground the end of the qd down a little. locks in just fine now. I have an SLR Helix on one of my Grendels and it is also super light, becoming a big fan of most SLR stuff. Btw nice rifle!
