16" 1:8 barrel... Will it shoot 140gr well? It's enough to stabilize a 140gr AMAX and 142gr SMK. 140gr Nosler Partition is much shorter, so works pretty well actually. Only a few people have done work with 140gr in 6.5 Grendel, since the longer projectiles intrude into your powder column. With high density powders like BL-C(2), H4895, AA2520, CFE223, LVR, and Power Pro 2000MR, you can get speeds that are actually pretty decent. I'm going to be loading up 140gr AMAX in the Howa Mini bolt gun, for example, since 140gr AMAX has a Litz .600 G1/.299 G7 BC. I have a bunch of them I couldn't get to shoot in my .260 Rem for some reason (.75 MOA for 5rd groups is what counted as "couldn't shoot" in that rifle, as everything else was bug-holing). There is data for: 139gr Scenar 140gr Lapua Naturalis 144gr Lapua FMJBT 156gr Lapua Mega 140gr Berger VLD In the reloading handbooks we put together. It's from AA and Lapua. |

Any links for Grendel data? None of my manuals have grendel data. |

Any links for Grendel data? None of my manuals have grendel data. Berger Nosler Hodgdon's Western Powders Alexander Arms Vihtavuori All have reloading data. Additionally, we created 2 Volumes of Handbooks for 6.5 Grendel since 2013, with literally hundreds of loads ranging from 85gr Sierra HP to 156gr Lapua Mega. |
| I have a 16" Alexander Arms upper with 1:8 twist. The 144 grain Lapua Scenar gives me 2308 fps using Alexander Arms' loading data. I killed my first Magnetospeed testing the 130 grain Norma BTHP, a little too long for the weight and apparently just a little unstable coming out of the muzzle. If you're going to shoot anything 140+, the shorter bullets in that range would work best. |

16" AA uppers should have 1/7.5" twist. AA uses 1/7.5" for 18" and shorter for gyro stability. |

Alexander Arms used to have a reloading data section on their website. I made a copy and have been using it for the last 8 years or so. It's probably still there. |
