I am wanting to build a 9mm PCC. I have an ATI omni hybrid upper receiver. I have been told not to use a polymer receiver, on a blowback gun. Is there really an issue with this or would it be OK?

9 m.m.'s are more jumpy from my experience, I have assembled 9 of them over the years. But buffer weight and spring rate can be tuned to compensate.
If the manufacture says don't do it on a plastic part, I would believe them...
If they dont mention it, I would tune it for the lowest recoil impulse. Glock seems to run fine in 9 m.m.

I guess I didn't clarify, my question. I was told by other shooters.

Can't think of any reason why it wouldn't work, although with the added mass of a blowback carrier it'll see more stress than a 5.56 DI setup.

If I had to do it, I'd go with a heavy (8oz or more) dedicated buffer and stay away from hot/+P loads. Or just save the Omni for another build.

My biggest concern would be if you had a OOB, even a small one could permanently damage the upper.

I've got a bunch of different PCCs and my 9mm ARs are the only ones stout enough to run +P ammo on a regular basis.

FWIW I tried swapping the RRA 'multi-cal' lower on my 16" 9mm AR (ramped bolt) with a polymer lower that had a poly FCG. Hammer would not reset at all.
