Kind of reminds me of an XM177E2 from the old days. http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/jj42/GLShooter/XM177/XM177LeftCollapsed.jpg Greg Dat Aimpoint tho |

I can't see forge marks on either side of the carry handle either, so I'm guessing it was built with eBay parts. It probably was a legit m4 at some point and either needed a new barrel or the owner wanted a shorter barrel. As you know it is hard to pin a fsb, so the set screw gas block was easy. ETA, at first I thought it was an a1 flash hider, but now I see the left side is solid. Some people (my self included) time the flash hider that way, normally 45° to the right, so that the venting gas pushes the gun into your left hand. |

Your pic looks like a re-weld or old school billet lower. XM177E2 has an 11.5" barrel, which was the main change they made from the XM177 to create more dwell time so it would cycle reliably.
