I have a new project in mind which I'm looking at doing an AR with 7.62x39.
The barrel I'm looking at is a http://yhm.net/7-62x39mm-16-threaded-chrome-lined.html I'm wanting to make sure I avoid the problems I've read about with steel casings causing problems and wondering if chrome matters or is that what causes the sticking casing problem? This is where I'm most unsure at having looked at the variety of surplus ammo. This one also looks good http://yhm.net/yhm-76-tf.html I'll end up reloading at some point, but in the mean time I'd like to take advantage of cheap ammo, so I'd like to be able to put what is available through this rifle. |

After building a few of these, I recommend a mid-length barrel from Faxon, Black Rifle Arms (made by Ballistic Advantage)
I've found the carbine length systems in 7.62x39 to a bit more finicky to tune, whereas the mid-lengths are a breeze. < Posted edited, 24 hour time out given - F > |
