Bought from Red X Firearms a 16" RXA-308 FLUTED MODULAR UPPER HALF
Then bought a stripped lower from Alex Pro Firearms.

They fit together but when I charge the bolt the bolt release is stuck will not budge so I can not send bolt home.
I am guessing the bolt release is too small and the upper is too wide.

How do I fix this or what kind of bolt release do I buy to fix this?

What bolt release did you use?

This is the result of mix-matched parts concerning AR10 type builds...

ETA- does the bolt release move freely with the upper off?

yes it moves freely with upper off. once you add upped it is a SNUGGGGG fit.

I used the bolt that came with the complete upper from Red x firearms. But since the lower is from alex pro that is the issue.

I have several ar-10 bolt releases so I took one and used a dremel and shaved it so wasn't so thick and is working now. Short term fix not long term. Need to find a bolt release that will work with this mix match upper and lower.

.

This is my first ar-10 to build and man is it different than 15s.......

I switched to the DPMS LR-308 bolt catch after several broke on my Aero builds... so far, no problems. I think they are about $8 from Brownell's.

I went through a few different brands on my LR308 and the Aero bolt catch has worked the best thus far.
