If y'all would be so kind as to check my build list for issues. I'm wanting a lightweight hunting setup, but don't want to break the bank. My biggest concern is the PSA LPK in the TN Arms lower. I originally was going to use that platform, but then changed my mind after already buying the lpk. I honestly just keep forgetting to call/email them, but will do so now. I'm ready to purchase the remaining parts, but wanted to head off any obvious issues.
Already purchased PSA PA10 LPK TN Arms Lower Aero Assembled M5 Upper with 15" Mlock Handguard MFT Minimalist Mil Spec Stock Up Next to Buy Faxon 18" Barrel Midlength Midlength Gas Tube PSA A2 style FH PSA Charging Handle KAK 308 BCG PSA Carbine 308 Buffer Kit Mil Spec The buffer tube is slightly longer 308 Carbine Buffer Assembly (Vendor undecided) .750 ADJ Gas Block, more than likely JP MOE Pistol Grip I think that's it. Anything I'm missing? I might get some barrel shims just in case as well. Also, I think I'm good on tools besides a roll pin punch. Thanks so much in advance! |

I found this link today, goes into a little bit more detail about differences with regard to lpk from PSA. I may also have an issue with the length of the Carbine buffer tube from PSA reading this as well.

Ok, not going to use the PSA buffer kit because everything I've read says the tube is a little longer than the standard AR15 Carbine tube. Love the price on it though.
So I will probably just go with something else from someone I'm already ordering from to save shipping |
| Those statements are correct. PSA has 3 proprietary parts that will not work any other .308 lowers. They are the take down pin, pivot pin and the bolt catch. I know I just got done with a PSA build. Also some of the other uppers might not match up on the the PSA lowers. |

Ok, a few tweaks based on minimizing my shipping. The Faxon barrel I wanted ended up going out of stock at Joe Bob in the couple of days I was finishing my checking. So only had to pay shipping (no longer met the $90 minimum) there and at KAK.

The PSA takedown pins will also work I believe, just will be a slightly different length. Im still working througb the possible bolt catch issue, but didnt want to risk more parts going out of stock. I'm not too worried about possibly getting additional lower parts. They're pretty cheap. So far I'm at $1205 total with shipping, for a 7.35 lb rifle with sights and no mag, on paper. Could have definitely gone lighter, mostly with upper and Handguard, but mucho more money. Bought a scale off Amazon to confirm weights as well. Thanks again! |
