OK...lets talk DPMS pattern AR10 barrels...who has the most bang for the buck...I know I can spend $300-500+ and get the Ranier top of the line super match or maybe a Noveske...but who has the best mid line (not budget) barrel out there? Faxon? Ballistic Advantage, Black Hole?? I am looking for an 18" barrel medium profile, preferably stainless but I like CM/CMV too...striving to make the most accurate moderate budget AR10 possible...plan on a 15 to 16.5" rail. The gun will be suppressed at some point not that that matters and will probably get shot in the NRA's new Prone Tactical AR series alongside my 556 Recce...

Or should I just spend big money on glass, trigger and barrel?

I'm getting ready to put BA's accuracy guarantee to the test this weekend. I have two of their 16" MLG barrels and thus far using an ACOG TA11E on one of the builds, I'm getting great results... personally, 14x with a cross hair is more precise than a 3.5x chevron... so I'm more than happy with initial results using the ACOG. I just picked up a Leupold 4.5-14x50 off the EE and will get a chance to see what the other barrel will do.

Below are a few tries with the TA11E at 100 yards... with the final adjustment. For the money, BA seems hard to beat.

Let us know if we can help with any questions. By the sounds of it, our Medium Tapered profile would fit the bill nicely, which we have in Stainless and Salt Bath Nitride.

Simply put, we try to provide the best service in the world. Before and after purchase.

+1. I have a Criterion hybrid contour nitride barrel and it's one of the best I've ever used. Hand lapped, the thing does not foul and it's pinpoint accurate with M118 ammo.

Its hard to go wrong with Faxon...Price to Quality ration is top notch and they stand behind there products.

BHW is also a great value if you want to go with 416 Stainless...

Good Luck.
