Hi guys and gals I'm new to the forum and have some questions on my current build. Recently I acquired a DPMS Upper with a DPMS .338 Federal Barrel. When I acquired this upper it was missing a bolt, bolt carrier, charging handle, along with the gas block and gas tube. I have since ordered a .308 bolt for the gun along with a low profile .750 gas block and was wondering about the gas tube. My question is, are their any differences between the gas tube that is used on a .308 and a gas tube for a .223/5.56 or 300 blackout? Has anyone else built an upper in the same caliber or make and what was the length of the tube needed??

Same.  I built mine, also a .338F, and you use the standard AR gas tube in the DPMS LR platform.  Get the length appropriate for your gas length.  My barrel is the 18 inch and uses the rifle length tube but you need to make sure what you have before ordering.

I use the BCM MOD 3 (large) CH in my LRs but use the medium ( mod 4) on ARs.

Thank you Big-Bore appreciate the help I will let you know how it works out when I get the parts in. Have you heard about any issues with this specific DPMS platform?

I have 4 LRs, three in wildcats and the .338F that I put together and I have had zero problems with the LR platform.  My hunting buddy has two factory LRs, .308 and .338F, and a .260 R that he put together and he also has had zero problems.  IMO they are more than good to go.
