Ok, frustration abounds. There is/was a thread around here about Moses magazines for .308s. I cannot for the life of me, find it! So, I'll start another one. I THOUGHT it was here in this topic rather than the "magazine" topic though - mods, I apologize if I screwed up and please feel free to move this if I did.
I'm continuing what I said in the other thread, but I'll summarize. The Moses Magazines ( http://www.mosesmag.com/ ) web site was discovered by another forum member, and I took a look. They make a number of magazines, and one of them is specifically for the Rock River Arms LAR-8, which also uses FAL magazines. Well, most of the cheap FAL magazines are just that - cheap... and they don't function well in my RRA. It is really unique to find a magazine specifically for a given rifle, as you guys know. I took a chance and ordered one based on the other member's review. My first caveat - I haven't yet used it, but I'll bet a paycheck that it's going to be just fine. I just got the magazine in the mail today. All I can say is, "Wow!" Very nice quality and a very nicely made polymer magazine. The single factory RRA magazine that comes with the rifle appears to be made by Thermold and looks and feels very cheap.. although it does function fine. This magazine made by Moses Mag looks very much like "the other" polymer magazine out there that's made for AR-15s, and the quality looks to be every bit as good. The fit and lock-up in the magazine well is excellent - far better than any FAL magazine that I've bought. I will report back after shooting with it, but it may be 1-2 weeks. The other thread may have updated info from the other user. In addition, I called Moses Mag to inquire about my order and Moses himself (not the one from the bible, ok?) answered the phone. Absolutely excellent customer service, and it sounds like he has a true desire to provide the best magazines money can buy. I was impressed, and Moses sounds like a really nice guy. Hopefully with all the flooding in S.C., everything will remain okay there. They also make other magazines, so check them out! I have no affiliation, but I'm going to order a couple more magazines from him right now. Report to follow... |

I have 5 of the mags and they work great. Saw the prototype at one of the Charlotte,NC military rifle match shoots. Moses was using it in his FAL . Everyone was trying to buy one then.
Apparently he made quite a few changes to the mold before he was happy. Supposed to be OD ones coming out also. |
