I am looking to build an 8" - 10" 300blk and would prefer to just buy a barreled upper assembly if possible.
I looked at PSA and they only seem to have pretty pricey ones. Radical firearms makes quite a few but I'm not sure about their quality. Would prefer to keep it below $400, below $300 would be very ideal. thaaaaanks. |

I have this upper from Hardened Arms
When I test fired it it worked well. I did have some malfunctions firing it single-handed and two-handed, though. When I fired it supported from the hip or cheek it cycled fine. I think I need an H2 buffer to correct the problem. Other than that I'm happy with it. Note: I have no personal involvement with Hardened Arms. I am just an end user. Hope this helps. |

I bought a used psa 10inch with chf barrel and it was accurate and very reliable. I built a new cmmg upper using their 16 melonite barrel and had to send it back. That means taking off the barrel, packaging it, sending out and waiting to get it back. Then rebuilding it taking it out to the range to verify the repairs. The cmmg had a tight chamber and was poping out primers on weak fiochi rounds, if i was shooting my supersonic i probably wouldn't been able to use my hands to type this.
I didnt even get an apology or sticker. Go with psa, buy their fn made barrels. |

I got a 10.5" from MAS Defense last year. Fair price and it has done all I've asked of it. In fairness I've only put maybe 300 rounds through it, so not exactly torture testing.

Thanks for the feedback fellas.
The plan has changed a bit now. I have a 7.5" 5.56 barreled upper that I no longer will be using hardly at all since I recently got a 10.5". I think I am just going to buy an 8.5" 300 blk barrel and put it in that upper, save me some cash. soooooo, who makes a decent barrel around the $150 - $200 range? |
| I have an 8.5" Radical upper. No problems, has run great and fit and finish were perfect. Muzzle device will be TIGHT and the barrel finish is very slick. Most of the problem reports I have heard about are people who tried to remove the MD without using vise blocks. They even put instructions on how to remove it in the box. I changed mine right away, no biggie. |
