Oh, yeah. I will list everything along with many pics when it's done but for now what you're looking at is a Yankee Hill Machine 16"  carbine barrel and fore end mounted on a Spikes upper.

Barrel particulars here

Hopefully, the rest of the parts will hit Thursday and I'll have my new Rifle running Friday.

What is it that you have to change to get it running properly?

Someone said you had to mill the upper more for a thicker BCG, True?

Obviously different barrel and mag, But what else do you need?

Adding the longer firing pin will help, I'm told.

Nice rifle. It's got a lot of the same stuff I'm going with.

That one had an LMT bolt in it for the BCG, it chewed through 5,000 rds of tiger ammo the first run with it and all ASC mags.

I would really like to get one of the lmt bolts but at 170.00 plus shipping and it is a little out of my range right now. Got one of the tactical ambush nib bolts coming this week. Hope it works well.

I promise you that LMT bolt makes the difference in a 7.62 build. It is worth every penny, you will never have a cycle problem, bolt breakage, nothing...... you will spend more money fixing problems that are popping up because of inferior parts.

I put an LMT bolt on my first 7.62x39 build years ago and I've had no issues. Will drop one in my new PSA AR47 also, while I don't normally replace working parts unless I have to, I've read a lot of threads about broken bolts and LMTs reputation is the best.

100% seriously if it is an 7.62 build the part that gives the most problems is the bolt and LMT has the best product on the market, its pointless not to spend the extra money for something even if you sold it later down the road would still hold its value.

I stand by this.

I bought 2 ebay bolts, a Tactical Ambush NIB and a Liberty Gun Works bolt.  I spent around $500 just in 7.62x39 bolts and it wasn't until I put in the LMT bolt that my paperweight actually functioned properly.

Also, just cleaning it, handling it, etc you can get the feel that the bolt is worth every penny.  I was scared to take off the extractor claw because of what fuckery might lie underneath that lobster tail extractor.  But to my surprise it was completely well designed and easy to maintain.

I certainly understand about the lmt quality, I own several mrp's from them. This is just something I slapped together a couple of days ago because I came across a barrel that was to cheap to pass up. Already had all the other parts except for the bolt. I ordered the TA bolt to see how it goes. If the bolt fails, I will go with the lmt. I have just seen several people on many diff posts that have had good results without moving up to the lmt bolt.
