SSK would be a potential source but that's the only one I can think that might do it. The 7MM bullets aee so long as to render magazine feeding with any velocity as impssible. IMHO Greg |

There several Issues when trying to run a 7mm-223/7mm TCU cartridge in a AR-15 platform...
A) The 7mm projectiles are long for caliber when paired with the .223/5.56mm parent case... B) The rounds won't stack correctly in It's original form/COL due to the limited COL and AR magazine ribs... C) Limited case capacity even when run with long COL AR-15 Magazines and thus limited velocity with the 7mm projectile range... You would have to shorten/modify the .223/5.56mm parent case to about 40mm/41mm for the cartridge to function properly in a AR-15 magazine/rifle...There are a few guys out there that have done this, mostly in the 7mm TCU form... The 6.5mm TCU and the 7mm TCU were very popular (and still are) with long range steel silhouette shooters and hunters due to the great accuracy, low recoil, and low cost to shoot... Good Luck. |

One other note, you can possibly get away with a 7mm TCU cambered AR-15 in stock form if using a modified Lancer 20 rnd. or 30 rnd. AR-15 magazine made for the 7.62x40mm WT round (Wilson Tactical)...However, the the COL on those mags is limited to about 2.269" . You can also go with the .277 Wolverine round by my friend Mark at MDWS that was designed for the AR-15 in stock form...so it would be the closest thing to the 7mm-223/7mm TCU round without needing anything special or adjustments other than just a barrel swap and your good to go from the .223/5.56 parent round... Hope this helps...good luck. |
