| I just ordered a 243 LBC from BHW. I got a 20" standard profile with a rifle length gas system on a 1-8 twist. This was definitely an impulse buy. What I found so far is that a 243LBC is just a 6.5 Grendel necked down to 6mm. I assume that I can get a Grendel neck sizing bushing die and just replace the bushing with a 6mm bushing to do the sizing. anyone have any experience with this?. any input rather it be handloads, experiences or information would be great thanks. |

you just cost me so much money... |

After a little research 6mm AR is a little shorter case body. Several others have had luck using a 6mmppc neck sized so that is what I will try 6mm ar issimply made by nexking brass down, NO resizing, shoulder moving or trimming required, unless of course brass is stretched from firing. Does the 243 lbc require resizing, shoulder movement, fireforming , or trimming? Is it interchangible with 6mm ar?? Closed sourcers are really pissing me off... |

The 243 LBC from BHW is not a closed source. PT&G makes the reamers. Barrel life is unkown as none of us have shot a barrel out and we have been shooting the snot out of them Die choices are the FL Redding Type S Grendel die. Don't bother with the 6 PPC dies as they won't size the base of the case. I did that initailly to get my three barrels running but the Grendel is what you need. Any small area not sized by the bushing is incocnsequential,
Best brass is LAPUA...the NEW AA stuff is just rebadged Hornady. That is suported by the AA site. Large amounts of information has been posted on other sites and is available with a quick search. No fire-forming. Feel free to contact me if you have any questions. Greg |

So with the 243 lbc you have to move the shoulder back? Did les b invent it or did they just commemorate him since it is based off the 264 lbc?? No sholder movement in a 243 LBC. I would say that it was parallel development by several people. The BHW version has a very slightly raised shoulder. Miniscule but it is there. Overall the case is well balanced. The 6X6.8 will out run it but I am such a purist I have three AR's in each plus a Savage barrel in each also. Remember these aren't SAAMI cartidges. Just like the old 22-250 Varmnter there are nuances from one to another. Greg |
