Ok guys I have just acquired my DPMS Recon .308 & I really like this rifle. My only concern is the trigger pull being a hefty 6lbs average. What is the best trigger upgrade that won't cost me a ton of cash? Anyone else owning a Recon .308 that can chime in here would be much appreciated. Thanks.

I have a LMT MWS and I ordered a JP light weight trigger spring kit for around $10-15 from brownells I think.  I only used one of the springs supplied.  I can't remember if it was the trigger spring or hammer spring.  The main concern is light primer strikes.  Look into it.  Also look into 10 minute trigger job.

I did the 10 min trigger job on an ar15 and a BR308. It makes a huge difference coupled with the JP lightweight springs. I drank the koolaid and put Geisslee  (sp) triggers on both rifles SSA, SSAE and am happy. $200 a trigger though. Still learning the 2 stage pull.

Even doing the 10 min trigger job on my Recon stock trigger was no help.  Put in an RRA 2-stage NM, and it made a world of difference!!!  Have thought about putting something more exotic in, but I think I will stay with the RRA for now!!!

I take it this is a first gen recon?  The g2 trigger is very nice for a factory trigger.

Geissele SSA-E turned my 308 recon from a 2 MOA into a sub MOA rifle.  Best bang for the buck as far as improving accuracy on this rifle.

I looked up the Jard triggers and from what I am hearing and have seen they are great triggers. You can get a 1.5lb trigger for $170 & that is with the Milspec springs. I think I am going to go with the Jard myself which is made by Brownell's if I'm not mistaken. Anyone run the Jard triggers?
