I recently built a 300blk upper, Rainier match 16'' with carbine gas system and a Battle Comp. When I test fired it I used a lower with a Colt H-3 buffer. I fired Remington factory 220gr ammo. It cycled flawlessly. Fast forward to yesterday. I ended up building a Spike's lower with a standard buffer. I had several out of battery issues and failures to lock the bolt on the last round. I was using the same mag I originally used to test fire the upper. I am guessing this is from a lighter mass buffer. I haven't had a chance to shoot again and won't for at least a week. Hive thoughts? Anyone had this issue before? |

Quoted: I am running a carbine length system with a standard buffer. So far I have not had problems. Were you using the same ammo? If so then I would say try the H2 buffer. I have run the 208 Ozark Ordnance subsonic with no problems. |

I tried running the T2 buffer and it just wouldn't run reliably. I switched to standard carbine buffer and no problems since.

I run a standard carbine buffer with my 16", but I know many guys run a Spikes T2, as it is heavier than an H and not as heavy as an H2. It could also be your spring, do you run the standard or a different upgraded one? |
