Thinking of getting into the 6.8.
I have a dedicated colt ar now in 5.56.

Is it as easy as just a complete upper swap or is there more to it?

You will need 6.8 compatible magazines as well, but yes with Mags and a 6.8 upper your stock lower will work fine.

Thanks.
Of course I was just looking and no one seems to have any 6.8 loading components.

Brass comes up regularly in the EE. Bullets you can find anywhere, Grafs has a shitload. Mid South Shooters Supply and Midway both have CCI 400 primers in stock. Powder will be your sticking point, but if you search a bit I bet you could find some H335, 8208, or 4895 somewhere.

Are you looking at .270 projectiles?

LWRC sells once fired Federal brass
SSA sells new brass direct from their site

AA2200 is the current most popular powder, and hard to find.

Rel 7 for lighter projectiles, H4198 is also very good
H322 was the most popular powder for heavier bullets prior to AA2200

Yep, upper and mags, but where's the fun in that? More reason to build up an extra lower! YHM with SLR forearm and diamond flute barrel, Phantom QD for suppressor. Added a Magpul UBR stock since these photos.

Yep, RE10x does well with the 95-100+gr bullets.
Power Pro 1200-r was starting to be tested & the panic hit.
For the 140gr Berger, (?).
The 68forum has allot of the latest info.

With many mags & a SPC II or equivalent (6.8 ARP, Noveske Mod 1) chamber, the 6.8 can be loaded to 2.285 - 2.3 & change.

Also, you need to know; Remington and S&B(Although, they did have some SRPs in some FMJs in an overrun.) uses large primers. HSM uses Remington cases. All others use SRP..
