[ARCHIVED THREAD] - Headspace question

I have a bolt and barrel both matched and fabricated by JP Enterprises. Is a headspace check advisable before firing the assembled weapon? Or is the headspacing check unnecessary and a non-issue because the the barrel and bolt were matched by the fabricators?

the purpose of bolt matched to a barrel is to here the head space exact to that barrel, I would see no need to get the gauges for it. it was gauged from the factory, you paid for it once all ready

If JP did it, you can pretty much bank on it. They are a fine company with a very high reputation, with an owner who is an active competitor and knows how to run a machine shop, as well as develop great products that answer real challenges.
