| I own a DPMS .308 AP4. Love the rifle. It runs everything I stuff into it like a champ. However, I do have one problem that I need some help with. The trigger is the most horrible thing I have ever used in my life. To say it sucks would be an understatement. I have seen some aftermarket triggers, but they all look like they are for the AR15/223 platform and not for .308's. Does anyone know of a good replacement trigger my rifle? I don't care what it costs, I just want a nice trigger that doesn't feel like its been dipped in molasses and will either drop in or require minimal fitting. |

Geissele G2S great cost effective Trigger.

| The trigger groups for the LR308 and AR15 are the same. You can buy LR308/AR10 specific trigger groups with heavier hammers to better guarantee proper striking with the use of harder military style primers but most people don't have any problems. Geissele and Timney are both great options and Timney sells a 308 specific trigger group if you want the heavier hammer. |

Geissele uses hammer springs that will reliably ignite Any primer and on the 308 system as well. |
| My DPMS 308 Came with a JP trigger, my POF308 came with a Timney. Shoot both. ALOT. I prefer the Timney. I have since done plenty of reading and Timney has been making triggers for decades. They do have a AR308 specific hammer. Wilson sounds good to go for a 5.56 I don't know if Wilson makes 308. Geissele are combat proven, but I have no hands on with one. Fall 2013 issue of 'Book of the AR-15' has a very in depth article on the Geissele. |

I own a CMC in an AR-15, a Timney in AR-15, an Armalite 2-stage in AR-15, have tried a JP adjustable in my LR308 and currently have a Wilson Combat 2-stage in my precision LR308. IF the CMC and the Timney are reliable in the .308 platform, I prefer the Timney between those 2 options if you lean towards a single stage trigger. The trigger shoe on the Timney is long and lacks a lot of curve, so high finger placement can help with rapid fire, or lower for better leverage for slower, more precise shooting.
I would not recommend the Armalite 2-stage as the takeup on the first stage is long as well as the reset. I replaced the JP adjustable with the Wilson Combat. The Wilson Combat is easily the best trigger that I have experienced for precision fire, and it has such a short takeup, it could easily be used quickly as well. It has not failed me once on primer detonation. It depends on your preference and how you plan on using the rifle most as to which trigger would be best for your uses. I have no experience with either an AR Gold or a Geissele, but I have heard NO complaints on either of them by those who do use them. Good luck, there are a lot of good ones out there and almost ANYTHING would be an improvement over that factory trigger. I know...mine was TERRIBLE too. |
