I'm accumulating parts for 2 MATEN builds, one for me, and one for a friend,  to help decrease the TX hog population.
So far I've got two 18" match barrels and nickel boron BCG's from Ranier, and a bunch of small parts. Waiting for some receiver sets to come avaialable.

Which vice block will work?

+1 for the DPMS block, that's what I used to build my Maten. Mega recommends it in the instructions manual as well.

A DPMS AR-15 vice block and wood blocks works also.....
I use the same method on the AR-15's as it keeps pressure off the takedown pin holes.

This may have blown over....I'll elaborate.

Using the Panther Claw in the horizontal mode is more secure and safer for your receiver than the design vertical mode.
A top hat can be made out of wood or high density plastic (read cutting board)

Armalite has two different models for AR10

Spikes has a nice set for AR15 that illustrates horizontal mode......

Yes. Thank you.
The DPMS AR-15 block will fit MA-10 receivers (pin holes do not line up but it holds the receiver snug).

A much better way to install a barrel is with this
The blocks are better used for installing other accessories

Knowing this was my only AR10 build, I locked mine in the vise sideways between two wood blocks.  It worked like a champ.  I also modified my barrel wrench (dremeled out the inside radius) so it would fit over the barrel given that the wrench lugs lined up perfectly with the barrel nut.  Also worked like a champ.  Barrel was properly torqued, receiver was 100% undamaged during the process.
