I was looking for an upper to setup another 7.62x39 AR but it seems none of the higher-grade manufacturers sell it.
I contacted Yankee Hill M and they said that it is permanently discontinued Any alternatives that can be considered relatively problem free? All I remember seeing during my search is Model 1 and some other website. Any good complete AR guns in 7.62x39? I had YHM 7.62x39 before and it ran perfectly with all "cheap" wolf/golden tiger etc. ammo. I sold it when the time was right, but did not realize it will become such a problem acquiring it again. I really don't want to buy 300 AAC with that oddball/expensive ammo... Thanks in advance. |

could just build it out. I put an ASA side charging upper with an Model 1 barrel and I cant complain at all. I think rick river just came out with one that takes AK mags. also SIG advertises their 516 in that combo as well but ive never seen one on the market.

I think places like YHM will continue to make barrels but the warranty liability with bolts probably costs them too much.
Sell parts - no liability. Sell a rifle - customer wants it fixed for free when a LIMITED LIFE PART breaks...... If you build one the YHM barrels are GTG, as are the Armalites. Looks like the only high end bolt on the market now is the Armalite as the LMT are gone and ARP got out of the game. But, as with other things a market void creates opprutunity. I can't believe some botique shop isn't currently making a high end bolt at least.... |
