I had some issues installing my gas block. I'm not sure if at some point during that struggle that I did some minor damage to my barrel threads but it looks like just the first two threads are bent down a little. I got my 5/8-24 flash hider today from Brownells and it will not thread on. You guys were a huge help on getting my gas block to work so I am asking what my options are here. Thank you!

You need what's called a thread file.  Its square shaped and has different pitches on each side.  It will self align to the good threads and clean out the bad ones.  A few strokes and it will be like new with very little risk.  A die would be difficult to start on a damaged thread.  Also a good barrel is not cut with a die so it wont have the correct thread depth.  Its possible to do with a die but easier to mess up.  A thread file belongs in every toolbox but they are not well known.
